Venezuelans head to the polls this Sunday, March 8, to vote in a National Popular Consultation that allows communities across more than 5,000 communal circuits to directly decide which local investment projects receive public funding.
According to reports from the electoral body in the various states, the day is proceeding normally in most regions, and communities are preparing to cast a vote that will consolidate the empowerment of the Communal Circuits.

Within the framework of regulations that articulate the Constitution and the Organic Law of Electoral Processes, the consultation is presented as a participatory planning tool aimed at decentralizing public investment and strengthening civic participation in public decision-making.
The Comprehensive Defense Strategic Regions (REDI, in Spanish) have begun the formal deployment of Operation Republic in the Western, Andean, Plains, and Central zones.
This move, according to authorities, is intended to safeguard the security of citizens and facilities during the consultation, without affecting the normal development of voting.
In these elections, more than 36,000 projects are being debated.
